Wedding Hair & Makeup – Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing me for your wedding hair and/or makeup. These terms and conditions set out the arrangements for your trial and wedding day booking.

1. Wedding Hair & Makeup Trial

The wedding hair and makeup trial gives you the opportunity to experience my work, discuss your preferred look and make any adjustments before your wedding day.

The trial fee is £150 and must be paid in full by bank transfer in advance to secure your trial appointment.

Your trial appointment is confirmed once payment has been received.

If you need to cancel or change your trial appointment, please let me know as soon as possible.

If a trial appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the £150 trial fee may be retained because the appointment time has been reserved for you and it may not be possible to offer the appointment to another client at such short notice.

Where sufficient notice is provided, I will do my best to offer an alternative trial date, subject to availability.

2. Booking Your Wedding Date

Following your trial, if you decide to book my wedding hair and/or makeup services, a booking deposit will be required to secure your wedding date.

The booking deposit will normally be approximately 30% of the agreed wedding day service price, with a minimum booking deposit of £150.

The wedding booking and date are not confirmed until the required booking deposit has been received.

The booking deposit is paid in consideration of the wedding date and services being reserved for you. If you subsequently cancel your booking, the amount retained will be considered in accordance with the cancellation terms below and will reflect any reasonable loss I have incurred as a result of the cancellation.

3. Trials Within Four Months of the Wedding

The standard booking deposit arrangement applies where your trial takes place at least four months before your wedding date.

If your trial takes place within four months of your wedding date, an additional £150 payment will be required when you confirm your wedding booking in order to secure the wedding date.

If you subsequently cancel your wedding booking, this payment may be retained to cover reasonable loss arising from the cancellation, subject to the cancellation terms below.

4. Final Payment

The remaining balance for your wedding hair and/or makeup services must be paid in full by bank transfer no later than 28 days before your wedding date.

Your final balance will be based on the services agreed at the time of booking.

Any additional services requested after the final balance has been paid will be subject to availability and may require an additional payment.

5. Cancellation by the Client

If you need to cancel your wedding hair and/or makeup booking, please notify me as soon as possible by email.

If you cancel, I will consider the payments already made against the reasonable loss I have incurred as a direct result of the cancellation.

This may include:

  • time and work already undertaken in connection with your booking;
  • costs or expenses already reasonably incurred;
  • the period of time for which your wedding date has been reserved;
  • and any loss arising because the date or appointment cannot reasonably be rebooked.

I will take reasonable steps to minimise any loss, including attempting to rebook the date where this is reasonably possible.

If I am able to rebook some or all of the services for the same date, this will be taken into account when determining any amount that is retained.

Any amount retained will be limited to a reasonable amount reflecting the loss arising from the cancellation and will not be intended as a penalty.

6. Changes to Your Booking

If you wish to change the services included in your booking, please contact me as soon as possible.

I will do my best to accommodate reasonable changes, subject to availability.

If you reduce or remove services from your booking, this may affect the total price and any booking deposit already paid will be considered in accordance with the cancellation terms above.

7. Illness, Injury or Unforeseen Circumstances

In the unlikely event that I am unable to provide the agreed services due to illness, injury or another unforeseen circumstance, I will make every reasonable effort to arrange a suitably qualified and experienced replacement Hair and Makeup Artist.

If I am unable to arrange a suitable replacement, any payment made for services that I am unable to provide will be refunded.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. Special Events & Photo Shoots

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, these terms and conditions relating to payment, cancellation and changes also apply to hair and makeup services provided for special events and photo shoots.

9. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law.

All services will be provided with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the agreement made with you.

Where applicable, your statutory rights will continue to apply regardless of these terms and conditions.

10. Agreement

By confirming your booking and making payment, you confirm that you have been provided with these terms and conditions and have had the opportunity to read and understand them.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

I understand that circumstances can change and that you may need to cancel your wedding hair and/or makeup booking. If you need to cancel, please notify me by email as soon as possible.

Any cancellation will be considered based on the circumstances of the cancellation, the amount of notice provided and the reasonable loss I have incurred as a result.

When assessing any amount to be retained, I may take into account:

  • work already carried out for your booking;
  • the time and date reserved exclusively for your wedding;
  • costs or expenses I have already incurred;
  • the services that have been cancelled;
  • how much notice has been given;
  • whether I am able to rebook the wedding date or any of the cancelled services; and
  • any reasonable costs or losses that cannot be recovered following the cancellation.

I will take reasonable steps to minimise my loss, including making reasonable efforts to rebook the date where possible.

Cancellation more than 28 days before the wedding

If you cancel more than 28 days before your wedding, I will assess the booking deposit and any other payments already made against the reasonable loss I have incurred.

Where my actual loss is less than the amount already paid, the difference will be refunded.

Cancellation within 28 days of the wedding

If you cancel within 28 days of your wedding, the likelihood of being able to rebook the date is significantly reduced. I may therefore retain an amount reflecting the reasonable loss arising from the late cancellation.

Where the booking has already been fully paid, any refund will be assessed having regard to the services cancelled, work already undertaken, costs incurred and whether any part of the booking can reasonably be rebooked.

Cancellation of individual services

If you cancel or reduce individual services within your booking, rather than cancelling the entire booking, the same principles will apply.

Any reduction in the final balance will be considered in light of the reasonable loss arising from the change and any costs or work already undertaken.

Trial cancellation

The £150 trial fee is payable in advance.

If you cancel or reschedule your trial with less than 24 hours’ notice, the trial fee may be retained because the appointment time has been reserved for you and it may not be possible to offer that appointment to another client at short notice.

Where sufficient notice is provided, I will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative trial date, subject to availability.

Refunds

Where a refund is due following cancellation, the amount will be confirmed by email and returned by bank transfer.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights you may have under UK consumer law.
